Doing Bermuda no favours

April 15, 2012Dear Sir,It was with surprise that on reading the Saturday edition of The Times newspaper to find a three quarter page article concerning the letter former Premier Dr Ewart Brown recently wrote to the British Foreign Office requesting disciplinary action against the outgoing Governor Sir Richard Gozney. The article explains the circumstances of the letter, but also goes on to mention the challenges of a growing wealth gap, unemployment and a huge Government debt and furthermore commenting on racial suspicions dividing black and white Bermudians. It is tragic that negative publicity does no favours for Bermuda especially with a flagging tourism industry and that Dr Brown could not have foreseen this.MONICA BERRYHampshire, UK
