April 20, 2012Dear Sir,Since my wife can’t get away this summer, I asked a friend to come to Bermuda. When he saw the price of hotels and airfare he said he could not justify spending the money. He only has American Airlines mileage points, but when he saw that AA’s only flight leaves NY at 5.25pm, he said: “We pay for a night and lose an entire day?, and the flight leaves early in the morning. We lose another day???” When he saw the $500 to $600 Jet Blue airfare he just laughed. And the hotel rates are sky high. I was embarrassed because I have been bragging about Bermuda for the ten years that I have known him. My wife and I have been staying in apartments for the last few years so it is affordable, but in the summer my friend wanted to stay on the ocean. He now wants to check out other vacation locations like the Florida Keys. Wonder why?RON LACEYNew York
