Put an end to ‘third laning’
April 25, 2012Dear Sir,Now that the Police budget has been improved in the 2012-13 Throne Speech, now maybe we, the general public, will see our police service take back the roads of our Islands with implementation of radar, and take care of all this “third laning” and reckless driving that has been happening over a period of time and put more motorcycle police officers back on our roads.I’m not in favour of these motorcycle police officers riding around our Islands at “breakneck” speeds, as what will happen eventually will be a serious accident concerning themselves and members of our general public. If our motorcycle police officers were to station themselves at intervals on our main arteries around Bermuda I’m sure it will slow down the traffic eventually and our roads will return to normal driving speeds. As I say, prevention is better than cure.PETER BROMBYPaget
