June 11, 2012Dear Sir,On Monday afternoon, a lost and frightened Yorkshire terrier dog jumped into the waters of Granaway Deep near the junction with Harbour and Longford Roads. The incident was witnessed by two Good Samaritans, Joanna Stapff, who works at Fourways and Craig Daniels, of the Works and Engineering Department at the Prospect Depot. After thirty minutes of effort in which Ms Stapff went into the water, the dog was retrieved safe and sound. The dog was returned to its very worried owner just five minutes later. If it had not been for the fact these two Good Samaritans saw what had happened the outcome would probably have been tragic for a much treasured pet.ANDREW BERMINGHAMWarwick
