August 11, 2012Dear SirYour newspaper doesn’t have enough room for the whole litany of complaints and stories about cronyism, incompetence, failure and hopelessness surrounding the PLP Government. I saw a comment on your online edition from a well recognised individual whom, I believe, at one time, supported the PLP. Speaking on the Rev Bean issue at White’s Island, she opined that when the PLP became the Government they simply assumed that the assets were all theirs. That they were entitled to dole things out as they pleased — it was their turn and their money and their right to simply ignore any civilised definition of the word “government”.I think she hit the nail on the head. And that is why we need a change. Clearly we are in a mess and the fault lies directly at the feet of the PLP ... not the global economy, not the US, not the UBP ... what we see today is the fault of a Government who thought they knew what they were doing but lost their moral compass and any imagination they may have had.Some PLP wannabes, like Vince Ingham, Stephen Todd (a founder of the BDA!) Jonathan Smith and Wayne Furbert, simply cannot possibly believe or have any real confidence in the things that they say — I know all of them and I just cannot believe that they are true believers in the PLP Rescue Machine. Others just want to keep the power and the glory for the benefit of a few but to the complete and utter destruction of a Bermuda most of us want to know.I don’t think the OBA has all the answers but the one answer they do have is that they are not the PLP. To those who question their youth and their unwillingness to have their platform appropriated by the PLP, all I can say is that we know what the future holds with five more years of a PLP regime ... and I think anyone with any intelligence can see that’s a pretty bleak picture. As others have said before, it’s time for this Government to stand aside and let someone else tackle the issues ... what can they possibly be afraid of ... that the OBA will do a good job?I’M NOT FAMOUSCity of Hamilton
