Ex-UBP, now in the PLP
September 5, 2012Dear Sir,Politics in Bermuda is a hoot. A former leader of the United Bermuda Party is now the Tourism Minister in the Progressive Labour Party cabinet. This is incredible stuff. How is the is possible, given the deep talent pool the PLP famously brags about. With gusto and curious affection he is welcomed across the floor! Who could write such a script? All the charges of inability to govern effectively and derision from Mr Furbert over decades now all forgiven. UBP lightning rod Max Burgess conscripted to the PLP’s infantry for his exceptional talents demonstrated while serving the UBP, now needed in the area of tourism resurrection, what a coup.Former UBP Senator now radio point man Larry Scott doing yeoman services in the trenches. Darius Tucker crosses the floor with the ease of a duck in the lake to emerge soon as a Swan in the PLP’s cherished UBP foot soldiers. But, Mr Editor, what we should be obsessed with are the former UBP loyalists now in the One Bermuda Alliance! Now is the time for change, nothing is more urgent and the OBA needs its chance to do better. There is an excellent blend of former UBP capital and experience and youth with energy and brilliance to take us forward with hope and promise. If not we will vote them out also. I’m satisfied they will do better than this administration who have lost their way! Vote OBA.WAYNE B SCOTTSmith’s
