Does CBS even know?
September 15, 2012Dear Sir,In response to Frustrated Cable Viewer’s request for support I too would like to register my complete dissatisfaction with the CV/Bermuda Broadcasting Company. What’s most frustrating for me is that BBC (read CBS) has the rights to the majority of PGA tournaments and NFL games (at least those shown on local television). Many moons ago BBC got the rights to show CBS channel here on the rock. I have to wonder what CBS management would think if they knew what a terrible job BBC is doing with the rights to the CBS channel today. To wit: Let’s take the golf, you cannot follow the ball in the air heck you can't even see the ball on the green when the camera zooms in on it. Everything is fuzzy and the ball blends in with the green. In an NFL game you can’t follow the football in the air, everyone knows the size of an American football! Surely even the non-sports enthusiast must sympathise with us poor souls. BBC has been getting away with this for years does CBS know what terrible product the BBC is providing the BDA public? When I see that VSB or ESPN has the right to certain tournaments/games I jump for joy. The quality of the BBC channel is in the stone age ... and I don't know how CableVision can get away with charging their customers for such a bad product. Can someone please get the message to BBC that their product is substandard for regular viewing (don’t even start to compare it to HD) and get the message to CableVision that they should be ashamed to ask their clients to pay for such an inferior product. Mr Editor, if you have the means I would love to see a copy of this little missive get to the CBS hierarchy, surely there is another entity here in Bermuda which would love to have the rights to CBS and who would treat their customers with a modicum of respect, which is far more than we’re getting from the BBC/CV.HOGFISH
