September 22, 2012Dear Sir,The other night, my wife and I walked into the Botanical Gardens to the John Lennon concert using the path beside Parks or Works offices just behind the new hospital. These are clearly the home of civil servants who are responsible for the upkeep and image of the Gardens.There was trash everywhere. Hedges are overgrown, plants look like they last saw attention when the UBP was around and weeds were sprouting all over. The place looked terrible and this is not only a place frequented by Wayne Furbert's very few remaining tourists but it was, ironically, the inspiration for John Lennons last album. In the eyes of the world, image is everything.Just another example of a PLP government who couldn't care less, can't afford anything any more and are simply incapable of dealing with the simpler pleasures of life.IT’S TIME TO GOSouthampton
