Financial Assistance stopped my aid without reason
June 26, 2013Dear Sir,I am just writing to expose an experience I am having. I have been on Financial Assistance for a year and some months as I am unable to find a job. In April I received no allowance and I have not received anything since then. I have found out from sources that know law and procedure of Government that the normal procedure is for the Financial Assistance department to indicate some infraction, etc, as to the reason why they discontinued paying the allowance and or other expenses. If there was an infraction, the department usually calls the person into the office to allow them to explain their side, etc, before any consequences occur.Well I have fulfilled every request my FA worker has requested and I know of no infraction on my part, neither have they indicated any to me. I’m not sure what my next course of action is but I think people should be made aware. Our Government and the FA department need to know that we are citizens too and we are not criminals, we simply are unemployed and need support at this time. They cut budgets where they should not be cut and spend where they shouldn’t. I thought the Government changed .... I guess not.UNEMPLOYED CITIZEN
