In agreement with writer’s view
January 16, 2014
Dear Sir,
This does not happen very often, but I welcomed the recent opinion piece, “A critical political choice” (RG January 15) by your columnist Al Seymour because I agreed with it almost one hundred percent. He said very well much that needed to be said. I am not optimistic since Bermudians will be allowed to participate and it is likely to be primarily poor blacks who will suffer because they are the ones most likely to be tempted with the illusion that they can improve their lot in a situation that is stacked against them from the outset. That is not likely to concern the OBA. The rich and powerful will benefit and the OBA does not want to take (what is most likely) the very small risk that they might lose and the result of the referendum might reject the casino concept completely.
