Dear Sir,

Further to a recent article published in The Washington Post with comments from Mr Ken Siegfried on Bermuda beaches and also the comments of the US Consular General on the same subject, it is of concern for both Bermudians and our tourists, however, the situation is being monitored by the Health Department.

Maybe, we would have the money to solve these problems if the US Government had not abrogated their responsibilities with regards to the clean up of the toxic waste left by them when they left the two bases in Bermuda. This is now having to be done by the Bermudian taxpayer!

When there was an oil spill in the Gulf, BP paid billions of dollars, but we are small fry and therefore don’t have the political clout to raise all hell.

Look to you own actions before being so critical of others!
