Short memories

Dear Sir,
Shocking that Bermudians and particularly Progressive Labour Party supporters have such short memories. Dr Ewart Brown definitely is a bright man and was a strong leader. But it must also be remembered that he was ‘the Leader who must be obeyed’ and his leadership is almost singularly responsible for the economic woes that Bermuda and our people face today.
It is easy to spend money to impress people, but Dr Brown’s legacy now is the pain that each one of us is feeling today with job losses and a deficit that generations of Bermudian must somehow repay. That makes him an irresponsible leader and someone we should not be celebrating. Shame, he was smart enough to do better for Bermuda.
