Please allow me to use this medium to unconditionally compliment my newspaper delivery man, Mr Lionel “Baldy” Smith.

I have had my newspaper delivered to my home each morning for many years and I love the service.

To quietly read the morning paper each day as the sun is coming up is enjoyable and informative.

I am an early riser and even if I go out to my front gate at 5am, sure enough, the newspaper is there.

It is consistent, punctual and always neatly wrapped in plastic in the case of inclement weather.

Delivering papers around Bermuda in the early hours of the morning is a thankless job and Lionel “Baldy” Smith, I salute you.

You are truly an inspiration, as I don’t think you have missed one delivery in the past two or three years.

I look forward to one day meeting you at my big green gates on Dunscombe Road, “Baldy”, and thanking you personally.
