Dear Sir,

The voters are indeed a fickle lot. Take for example, Bob Richards, who took on the “poisoned chalice” of the Ministry of Finance and the mess left by his predecessors of the Progressive Labour Party.

He did a fantastic job under very trying circumstances and got very little public thanks for his efforts. Indeed, he lost his seat.

The new PLP government has the opportunity to continue his fiscally sound policies, but, if its past record is anything to go by, it will be looking only to see what is in it for itself.

Still, the voters have only themselves to blame if this happens.
