A quite dozy existence

Dozing off: Opposition Leader Jeann Atherden was photographed from within the chamber of The House of Assembly sleeping during a debate in a video which has gone viral, along with photographs of Progressive Labour Party Members sleeping in the chamber

Dear Sir,

Your report on illegal photographs taken in the House of Assembly and the call for an investigation into how such photographs were taken, when House rules ban such photographs without the approval of the Speaker, is like being caught with your pants down — “you protesteth too much!”

In normal business, if one is caught sleeping on the job, one is fired. Our elected representatives are paid to do a job — of their choice because no one forced them into such positions — and if they are incapable of doing their job, they should resign or be fired.

The investigation should be into why so many MPs are being paid while sleeping on the job.
