Dear Sir,

Having become used to openness and transparency, while seeing listings of planning applications, government contracts awarded and the like in your esteemed paper, it has struck me that, at least with the latter list, nothing appears any more.

Has our government ceased to maintain its schools and other buildings? Are there no improvements to existing infrastructure — whether additions, replacements, eg, LED lighting — or has the engagement of consultants and other vendors stopped?

Is there a tender process in place for any of the above, or have these jobs been kept in-house, so to speak?

It would be great if someone in the know could answer the above questions.
