Visiting Bermuda again was a delight

Ten minute test: The Covid-19 test centre at the Perot Post Office in Hamilton (Photograph supplied)

Dear Sir,

We are on the last day of our first visit to Bermuda in two years. We first visited Bermuda in 1968 and had returned at least once a year ever since until Covid.

We cannot congratulate Government, the Health Department, the Bermuda Tourism Authority, the lovely new airport and anyone we missed for making our visit so normal and painless. We were quite anxious about what we might encounter due to Covid and all of these concerns proved unfounded.

Our arrival experience was flawless. It took an hour from engine shutdown to terminal exit.

The Covid test took only ten or 15 minutes of that and it was very easy and well organised.

We received our test results early the next morning. We also received our appointments for our fourth day test and our day before flying home test. The four-day test took 10 minutes at the Perot Post Office and results were available the next morning. As far as going out and about - no problem. Your masking mandates are very easy to deal with and our daily experiences were absolutely normal otherwise.

It was great fun to revisit many of our old favourite restaurants and sites and experiencing normal dining routines. Bermuda is back and if you are an offshore reader and considering come here, don’t hesitate. We had a great nine days and are already planning our next trip next year.
