Call to give TAF the heave-ho

Dear Sir,

The Bermuda Travel Authorisation Form has to stop.

The controversial Travel Authorisation Form is schedule to be in place until the end of March next year

Having just returned from a trip abroad and having to figure out and complete the Travel Authorisation Form, I cannot see why any visitor would want to go thought that process to come here. Unfortunately, it shows in our tourist numbers compared with islands to our south.

The Turks & Caicos tourism board reports that it had its busiest season on record in 2021 and into January 2022. The Dominican Republic has reported that it has had record tourist numbers for 2021 into 2022.

Both of these islands require travellers to be fully vaccinated, but do not make them fill out a lengthy, confusing and stress-inducing travel authorisation form.

We need work for our island and money generated by tourism.

We’ve come a long way through this pandemic; it’s time to get this economy working again.

Stop the TAF now.
