Bermuda has been self-governing for four centuries

Dear Sir,
The Attorney-General spoke recently about self-government. I was under the impression Bermuda is Britain's oldest self-governing colony. It has only been in recent years that the passing of the Cannabis Bill was denied by the Governor and the British Parliament. Can anyone tell me, apart from this Bill, has the British Government denied any other Bills in the past 410 years? We have had the freedom to govern ourselves for more than 400 years.
It is good the Governor has control and oversight on the police, external affairs, defence, including the armed forces, internal security — this prevents any chance of corruption which may occur with any political party.
