Thankful for response to those dealing with grief
Dear Sir,
It is with much gratitude that I write to express thanks, on behalf of the Grief Response Ministry Team, for the generosity of the people of Bermuda.
The aim of the Grief Response Ministry, a branch of the community services of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, is to provide ongoing emotional and spiritual support to those who grieve. We also offer a 13-week online support group (two hours weekly) known as GriefShare, which has proved to be immensely therapeutic and beneficial.
We attempt to call, visit and pray with grieving individuals or families. We assess any other needs and try to meet those needs. One member of our team has the sole responsibility of mailing sympathy cards. Our ministry has grown by leaps and bounds. There is a lot of grief in Bermuda! Needless to say, because of this growth, our financial needs have risen exponentially.
On September 13, the Grief Response Ministry held its first tag day at various locations around Bermuda.
The response from the public was phenomenal! It was heart-warming to witness such generosity. We want to publicly thank everyone who gave to this cause.
We also thank our many tag day volunteers, too numerous to mention, and the following organisations who permitted us to use their premises:
The MarketPlace Stores
Arnold’s Group
The Lindo’s Group
Bermuda Hospitals Board
The Phoenix Annex
People’s Pharmacy
Specialty Inn
