Plain to see that Westchester County’s not up to it
Dear Sir,
I wanted to provide some thoughts on the Westchester County (White Plains) Airport and how its atrocious set-up is harmful to the sustainment of BermudAir.
Having recently flown through Westchester on holiday with the wonderful BermudAir, the airport is too small to handle more than two aircraft at once. The accommodations are hellish and that of a 1920s era.
I was fully expecting the Wright Brothers to fly in, rather than that of JetBlue’s A320s crowding the terminal.
From the check-in area, to the security clearances, to that of the departure hall, everything was miniature with people asses-to-elbows together. To say it took an hour to get through security would be no lie.
Westchester County, the state of New York and anyone associated with the airport should be ashamed at how bad the airport is compared with modern or even 20th-century facilities.
Where this concern connects with BermudAir is, if the terrible conditions persist, flyers will choose not to experience the wonderful and friendly BermudAir for the bad taste Westchester Airport leaves. It is quite apparent that if not happy when going through the airport, people will be unhappy when on the plane.
Hopefully, more can be done by the county and BermudAir to improve the airport experience. One could say that Westchester County copies the sensational customer service that both BermudAir and LF Wade International Airport furnish as a model to go off.
