Thanks for sharing the Christmas spirit

Dear Sir,

Once again please allow us to use your newspaper for this note of gratitude and heartfelt thanks to our Bermudian community.

We, the committee of Share the Christmas Spirit, would like to remind the Bermudian community how much we appreciate them and to extend a heartfelt thanks.

A very special thanks to the MarketPlace Ltd for allowing us to hold our Share the Christmas Spirit Tag Day at its eight stores on December 2, 2023.

The committee is very grateful for the continued support Bermuda has shown for this worthwhile project for 35 years, by providing non-perishable items and placing them in the decorative bins at all MarketPlace stores. This past year, we supplied 709 food hampers.

As the chair of this worthwhile programme, I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to MarketPlace president Seth Stutzman, administrators Ladricka Simmons, Natalie Rego and Kevin Smith, and a special thank-you to Joseph Cheeseman for his overwhelming support and hard work in collecting goods from all MarketPlace stores, schools and businesses who made food donations.

Also a special thank-you to pastor David Steede and his deacons, Derek Ming, Clarence Symons and Diane Coddington, of the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church, for the use of their building to pack the food hampers.

Thanks to Lionel Raynor, Everon Group, Hannover Re and the Argus Group. Many thanks to our food donors, Wakefern Food Corp, MarketPlace, Pacheco & Sons Farm, BGA, Butterfield & Vallis, Vision Bermuda, Bermuda Government preschools, primary schools, middle schools and the Bermuda High School for Girls. We say kudos to all schools and students for your support and generous donations over the years.

Last but by no means least, we say thanks to Hamilton Lions members Debi and Dudley Cottingham for opening their home to club members to wrap the Christmas boxes.

Thanks to the following Lions, family and friends for volunteering their time to help with packing and distributing the food hampers: past district governor Stephen Dean, Paul Dean, Jean Stovell, Joanne Talbot-Johnston, Marlene Christopher, Caleb Darrell and Dalton Stovell.

May God continue to bless each and everyone of you in 2024.
