This is about honour and respect
Dear Sir,
Please allow me the space to express my views on dress in public places. I tend to agree with those who feel swimsuits in public places other than the beach is definitely inappropriate.
We used to have a standard for public dress, and I feel it’s high time it came back. The argument that we just need to get with the times just doesn’t fly. The problem with today’s society is that we have dispensed with all of the “old” rules and either have not replaced them or we have replaced them with nonsense.
What is wrong with the “old” rules? They brought us honour and respect. People have become so cavalier that they don't know what honour and respect are.
I am all for tourists having a good time while they are here, but does that mean we throw out the rulebook?
I was always taught when I go to someone else’s home, I must respect that home, which meant following whatever conditions were laid down by the host.
We can’t go over in any of these tourists’ countries and do as we please. So why should they be allowed to come here and make a mockery of our society?
Yes! Dress codes in public need to be enforced.
