Remember the good things about Bermuda
Dear Sir,
It’s certainly true that we have our problems here. Just to name a few – poor road surfaces, appalling driving habits (if not deadly), dissatisfaction with the political scene, a suffering economy, stalled hotel construction, etc.
However, what about the good things in Bermuda? To start – one of the most beautiful spots on earth with a great climate. Yes, we get hurricanes but very rarely. It’s so typically Bermudian to complain about the cold in the winter and the “unbearable” heat in the summer. But that's our tradition, isn't it?
We live in a country where people are generally friendly – we greet each other with, “Good morning, enjoy your day, hey bye, what’s happenin’?” We talk to our visitors and assist them when and where we can.
Where else in the world can you call your doctor or medical group and likely get an appointment that day or within 48 hours. If you have any doubt about how beautiful this island is, just listen to the comments of first-time visitors on a flight as they approach the island and look out the window – what a sight!
So Bermuda, I ask you, is there really a better place to live? If you think there is, perhaps you might try it. Remember, there's a lot of grass out there, but it's not always greener.
