The offending stretch of road in Pembroke West

Dear Sir,

On August 23, I called the Government Administration Building requesting to be transferred to the correct area of government to advise about an ever-growing pothole on our neighbourhood road of Northcote West in Pembroke. I was asked to leave a message for a “Mr Charles”.

I also followed up with an e-mail to potholes@gov.bm on this same day and never received an acknowledgement.

On September 4, I followed up again via e-mail to no reply. A month ago, on a rainy Saturday morning, our Constituency 19 representative, Jaché Adams, held a town hall meeting at West Pembroke Primary School. I attended and met with Mr Adams, who said he would pass on the complaint about the ever-growing pothole.

Last week, on October 18, I followed up again via e-mail to potholes@gov.bm to no response again. Others in the neighbourhood have also made complaints to no response to their messages.

In the meantime, everyone in this area has to drive over this hole every day, as well as trucks. The hole is becoming bigger with each rainfall and traffic use.

When it rains, this hole area becomes pretty much a pond, dangerous and muddier. It would be helpful if at the very least the hole could be filled in, as others have done their best — at their own expense — to fill it in, which is not their responsibility.

This is not a private estate road.
