Sticks and Stones to move into new Paget showroom

Custom cabinet, flooring and countertop seller Sticks and Stones is moving from its Pembroke location of 15 years and plans a brand new showroom in Paget.The company will be moving into the longtime Eve’s Cycle Livery building on Middle Road, in the New Year.Eve’s Cycles, Paget, is closing down, though it’s understood it will keep its Dockyard and Water Street, St George’s locations. Owner Denise Trew declined to comment on the reason for leaving the landmark Paget location.Sticks and Stones’ 3,200 square-foot two-floot building in St John’s Road has been put up for sale for just under $1.4 million through Rego Sotheby’s.Sticks and Stones co-owner-manager Mark Henneberger said the company was relocating because it wanted to increase visibility and foot traffic.It would be moving into a purpose-built showroom in about March, once a complete renovation of the Paget building were complete, he said.“On a monthly basis we get people coming into the showroom and saying ‘we never knew you were here’,” Mr Henneberger said. “The new location will give us more visibility as the morning and evening traffic passes by. And the new location is a little more on the way in and out of town, so we think it will be a big plus. We are looking to the future.”He said the company, which employs six, planned to expand its line to include stylish DeWils custom cabinets. It also sells Glenwood and Heritage kitchens, stone, quartz and other solid-surface countertops, stone fireplaces and Mirage hardwood floors.Mr Henneberger said the company planned to expand its opening hours at the new location and could possible open on Saturdays. Currently it is open by appointment on Saturday.Sticks and Stones was founded by Tom and Carol McFarlane in 1996.
