Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty’s newest agent says she gave up being a lawyer to sell real estate so she could follow her true passion.Cratonia Smith was an associate at Cox Hallett Wilkinson, having being called to the Bermuda Bar in 2010.But she said she developed a keen interest in property transactions, particularly conveyancing, and soon decided to make a daring plunge into a new career. She said she hopes to make home buying “painless” and is willing “to go that extra mile”.“I have always been fascinated by the real estate profession and when I sat down and did the research I quickly recognised that navigating through the market is no easy task,” Ms Smith said.“Buyers and sellers need someone who is not only knowledgeable, but is also innovative and is going to work diligently on their behalf. I considered that, and knew that I would be able to offer the profession a hard working spirit, the creativity needed to get the job done as well the personality and skill to make buying or selling a home as painless as possible.”Agency manager Susan Thompson said Ms Smith’s goal was to provide her clients with “exceptional, innovative service specialised to their individual needs”.“We are very pleased to have Cratonia join our staff,” Ms Smith said.“It is always refreshing to have new ideas and to work with young people to train them in the dynamic field of real estate.”Ms Smith received her LLB from the University of Kent in Canterbury, England in 2008 and completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in Manchester, England in 2009.
