Management Solutions Ltd has announced the opening of its new Investors in People Bermuda Quality Centre.Investors in People is a UK-based business improvement tool and quality standard, which focuses on employees, that is now operating in 75 countries around the world.In 2011, along with many other jurisdictions, the licence was transferred from the Bermuda Government to Management Solutions Ltd, a subsidiary of New Venture Holdings. Management Solutions, a partnership between Don Mackenzie (New Venture Holdings Ltd.) and Eric Jenkinson, of Jenkinson Consulting, an Investors in People GOLD organisation, was recently awarded the exclusive licence for Investors in People Bermuda.Mr Mackenzie said: “While Investors in People has had a presence in Bermuda for several years, the establishment of this quality centre will provided an elevated level of support and development opportunities for our Investors in People recognised organisations, those that are currently working towards Investors in People recognition and those wishing to commence their journey to recognition.”There are currently eight recognised Investors in People organisations including: Ace (Siliver), Argus Group, Bacardi, BF&M (Gold), Bermuda Public Service Union (BPSU), KPMG, National Training Board (Gold) and Rosedon Hotel. There are also a number of organisations working with Investors in People Bermuda seeking to achieve recognition.Mr Jenkinson originally brought Investors in People to Bermuda in 1997. The Bermuda Government undertook a pilot scheme, led by Mr Jenkinson, to introduce Investors in People to the Island. The Bermuda Government acquired its licence to deliver Investors in People within Bermuda in 1999. Over the next 13 years, a growing number of organisations across all sectors undertook the journey to achieve their Investors in People recognition.“An Investors in People Licenced Specialist and Bermuda’s driving force for Investors in People in Bermuda for the past 15 years, Eric is intimately familiar with our existing clients, Bermuda’s business environment and our culture,” said Mr Mackenzie.Mr Jenkinson said: “If you overlay the fact that people are an organisation’s greatest asset, then it goes without saying that by providing an environment where employees are given the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential, in turn, a company will enjoy high levels of productivity and performance. Now, Investors in People operates in 75 countries around the world and it is our intention that Bermuda will become the leading Investors in People jurisdiction in the world.”Mr Jenkinson added: “For a jurisdiction of this size that is a tremendous accomplishment.”This week, Investors in People International’s Contract Manager, Bill Reed, has been in Bermuda conducting an audit of Investors in People Bermuda.“I’m currently halfway through conducting a complete quality review of Investors in People Bermuda and I’m very pleased with what I’ve seen thus far,” he said, adding that his role is to asses new licensees to ensure compliance.“I travel around the World for Investors in People International and the Investors in People Bermuda model is one that I would wish to replicate.
