Elbow Beach adds poolside cabanas to spa operation
Lovers of all things luxurious have a new place to get pampered in Bermuda. The Spa at Elbow Beach this week unveiled its latest addition to its serene setting — five new poolside spa cabanas and a poolside “finishing touches suite”.Guests of the spa can now relax in the comfort of one of the five private cabanas located at the Eastern end of the resort’s swimming pool. The poolside cabanas, which are just steps from the pool, were created by renovating five of the hotels former poolside guestrooms. Now visitors and locals alike can rent the cabanas out for $400 a day.A spokesperson for the hotel said the new cabanas just add to the already unique design of their spa.“The Spa at Elbow Beach was already a very unique spa concept. We are the only spa on the island where there are no communal areas. When you book a treatment with us, it takes place in your own private spa suite,” said Sophie Dier, director of communications for Elbow Beach.“Our new Poolside Spa Cabanas are an extension of this concept. For those looking for more privacy and amenities when spending a day poolside, our Cabanas are a wonderful choice, in the same way that our spa guests choose The Spa at Elbow Beach specifically because of our private spa suite concept.”Guests can, of course, experience a variety of spa treatments in the privacy of their cabana — everything from the 50-minute Oriental Essence Massage for $185 to a 20-minute Indian Head Massage for $90.The cabanas also offer a multitude of amenities including an ample supply of large pool towels, sun block, magazines and a private bathroom with full shower. The cabanas, large enough to accommodate up to six people, are equipped with a flat screen TV with HD cable, a personal music system, free Wi-Fi and a safe. Guests will also find a fully-stocked mini-fridge with complimentary water and soda, a fresh fruit platter, waiting for them inside.Video and board games can also be arranged and food and beverage service from Blue Point Poolside Restaurant is also available. The cabanas even come with your own personal butler to assist with any additional requests you may have.Ms Dier says the cabanas so far have been a hit with“The cabanas cater to all kinds of groups,” she said. “So far, we’ve had bachelorette parties, bridal parties, birthday parties, ladies spa days and family reunion groups. They’re a great option for those looking for a little additional privacy and an area to get out of the sun while still remaining poolside.”Additionally, the spa has now opened its finishing touches suite for all nail services. The new suite has plush seating, oriental foot basins and pool views to enjoy whilst having a treatment.Treatments available in the finishing touches suite include the Mandarin Oriental Manicure and Pedicure (both one hour) is $99 or the Holistic Foot Treatment with hot stones. (90 minutes) for $185.Elbow Beach is also currently offering a new Beach Club Membership Programme. For $6,500 a year, a family of four can have access to the amenities at the Elbow Beach Hotel — including the lounge chairs and locker rooms at the beach and at the pool, the tennis courts, and The Camp at Elbow Beach, which keeps children entertained with activities around the property. It also affords members a 20 percent discount at the spa, special room rates and signing privileges at Mickey’s and the Lido Complex. For more information on The Spa at Elbow Beach, go to www.mandarinoriental.com/bermuda/spa/.For details on the resort’s beach club membership, e-mail Nijah Smith, beach club manager at nsmith@mohg.com
