The owners of O-Bar have put the Bermudiana Road coffee and cocktail bar up for sale.Associated Cuisine has listed the bar with Firm Advisory, a business brokerage joint venture with Bermuda Realty. The bar, formerly known as Opus, was at one time part of Claudio Vigilante’s troubled Fresco’s group, which also included restaurants Silk (closed, under new ownership), Aqua (closed) and 64° at Port Royal Golf Club (closed, under Flying Chef management).Associated Cuisine shareholder Paul Harshaw said: “This opportunity is ideal for the acquirer looking for a turnkey food service / bar operation. We are selling it putting it up for sale at a reasonable price so that we can focus our time and resources on our other operations.”The bar offers al fresco seating and has a prominent location to draw passers-by and lunchtime / coffee-break regulars.Included in the sale will be installed audio/video systems, HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical setup, bathrooms, dishware and general furniture and fixtures plus the relevant licences and permits.Kumi Bradshaw, CEO of Firm Advisory, said the vendor requested that interested parties provide written confirmation from either a lending institution, attorney or other appropriate entity indicating that the interested party “has the financial means to transact at a minimum price of $275,000”.He said financial information, leases, agreements, other documents available for due diligence will be shared subsequent to execution of a non-disclosure agreement. The owners are looking for a strategic partner, investor or buyer. The bar remains open. Each of the restaurants that were at one time part of Fresco’s was owned by groups of various local shareholders but managed by Mr Vigilante, who kept Fresco’s and renamed it Maria’s Ristorante. For more information contact sole agent Firm Advisory at 295-3301.
