A service outage that left many BTC customers without a phone and Digicel customers unable to make calls yesterday was fixed by the afternoon.The outage began at about 9am yesterday morning and lasted well into the afternoon and affected landlines and Digicel customers trying to call landlines.Digicel Bermuda said the BTC outage left also affected some Digicel cell towers that rely on BTC data links.“Digicel wishes to apologise to all customers affected by the BTC service outage,” a statement from the company said.A BTC spokesperson told The Royal Gazette the problem was on their end and not Digicel’s.“BTC wishes to apologise for the recent service outage that affected some Digicel customers,” the spokesperson said. “Service to Digicel has resumed and our network operations team is working to identify the root cause of the problem.”
