For the second time in less than a week, BTC yesterday experienced an outage that affected Digicel Bermuda customers.All calls from Digicel customers to BTC landlines and vice versa were temporarily affected by the outage, which started at 3:20pm yesterday afternoon. The service outage also affected some Digicel cell towers that rely on BTC data links.A Digicel spokesperson said the outages affected direct routes between Digicel and BTC and Digicel and TBI making calls between Digicel, TBI and BTC impossible.“Digicel wishes to apologise to all customers affected by the BTC service outage for the inconvenience,” the spokesperson said.The Digicel spokesperson said they made contact with BTC to ensure the problem was addressed and that the issue was resolved within a half an hour.BTC said it’s investigating the cause of the outage.
