One of Bermuda’s first and most downloaded smartphone apps has just received an official endorsement from the Department of Tourism.The Go Explore Bermuda app, which launched May of last year, is a free travel guide app that helps tourists here locate attractions, restaurants, golf courses, beaches, hotels, shops and nightlife.Yesterday, the makers of the app announced that the, Minister of Tourism, Wayne Furbert, the Bermuda Department of Tourism and its advertising and marketing agency, Fuseideas, have given their full support and endorsement to the app.Ultra Concepts Group (UCG), the makers of the Go Explore Bermuda app have signed an agreement with Fuseideas and the Department of Tourism to promote Tourism sponsored events and videos into the first quarter of 2013.“This show of support by Minister the Honourable Wayne Furbert and Fuseideas exemplifies the fact we are living in the information age and Go Explore Bermuda continues to gain momentum and acceptance as an excellent information resource for our visitors,” said Michael Brangman, marketing and business development manager for UCG.Go Explore Bermuda was voted Best Local Mobile App for 2011 by Bermuda Tech Week and has been used tens of thousands of times by tourists wanting more information about Bermuda’s businesses, history, culture, activities, and the best deals on the island.“Go explore brings to life many of Bermuda’s historic attractions,” Mr Furbert said. “I believe that Go Explore Bermuda coupled with the Bermuda Department of Tourism’s Bermuda Travel & Vacation Guide, provides our visitors the information they need to enjoy and experience all Bermuda has to offer.”Users can enjoy video and audio content provided on the application.
