Credit card glitch hits Capital G customers
Capital G has issued a statement explaining a technical glitch affecting customers using their debit cards abroad. The bank’s chief banking officer Bob Wilson said yesterday: “We are aware that some Capital G customers requesting cash withdrawals from international ATMs or attempting point of sale transactions abroad may currently be experiencing issues with the use of their Capital G debit cards.”Earlier the bank said both debit and credit cards were being affected but later stressed credit card transactions were not being impacted.“This is a technical issue that results in customer’s accounts being debited without the funds being dispensed, or purchase transaction completed. Although the system issue is beyond our direct control, we are aggressively working with our U.S. vendor to resolve as quickly as possible.“We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience this has caused and will work with customers who have genuine disputes to resolve expeditiously.”Customers who have been directly impacted are encouraged to contact the Capital G Call Centre on 441-296-6969 to begin the resolution process.
