Salon Store expands into spa business
A beauty products store is expanding into the spa business.
Naturescape spa and cosmetic centre — which will use handmade organic products from Canadian-based Eminence — will officially open tomorrow in the existing Salon Store premises on Reid Street.
And they have signed up Eminence specialist trainer/technician Wendy Berkowitz to launch the new venture.
Ozzie Hinds, who owns and operates Salon Store with wife Janet, said: “This was conceived over a couple of years and we have the confidence there is a market for this type of product.”
The Salon Store opened its doors in 2009 and supplies professionals and the public with a wide range of beauty products.
The spa treatments will be offered to women and men.
Mr Hinds said: “We will be offering facials, manicures, pedicures, massage and waxing — the entire gamut of things you would expect from a spa centre, but with natural, organic products.
“We have been serving professionals and the public with beauty care products over the years and this is a natural extension.
“We have a number of other lines as well, but Eminence will be the product used in the spa.”
Mr Hinds added: “If people have a specific need, we have the product lines and information so that they can make the right choices.
“It’s a fresh, new and relaxing environment and we invite the public to come and enjoy it.”
Mr Hinds said that the decision to expand was the right one — despite the recession.
He said: “We have a range of products and services — we’re not dependent on any one product or service. We cater for every aspect of the body, from head to toes and we can ride out a recession.”
The Eminence range, which was created in Hungary more than 50 years ago, features products based on the use of natural ingredients, rather than harsh chemicals.
Ms Berkowitz said: “We use organic, fresh fruit and vegetables in our products. It’s basically like a raw fruit diet for your skin.”
The Eminence range boasts a huge range of beauty products, including cleansers, toners, exfoliants, serums, as well as sunscreens, with most of their lines still made in Hungary.
Their range is certified by the Organic Trade Association, which promotes and protects organic trade to protect the environment, as well as international certificates and the United States Department of Agriculture for its US-made products.
The firm also makes use of wind and solar power in production and uses recyclable packaging. Eminence also uses as low emission vehicles for deliveries and do not use animals for testing.
Eminence won the American Spa award for favourite skincare line 2013 for the fifth year in a row.
The firm’s website lists celebrity endorsements from singers Alicia Keys and Ludacris and Hollywood stars like Bridget Jones’ Diary’s Renee Zellweger and Hunger Games: Catching Fire actor Jenna Malone.
