Bermuda information website launches today
A website that is described as gathering links to all the latest information that relate to Bermuda is being rolled out today.
A press release announcing the launch and describing the website explained: “Bermudatoday.com automatically pulls together information using technology similar to Google, but focuses on only information related to Bermuda and presents the information in a more structured, more user-friendly manner.”
Website developer Andrew Beek, who also owns the site, is described as a Bermudian who is an active volunteer for a number of charities. The website includes information about the most recent jobs, volunteer opportunities, weather, property for sale and rent, flights to and from Bermuda, local news, classified, events and social media.
He is quoted as saying: “I am pleased by the initial response to the new site.
“Everyone seems very interested in the ability to quickly locate new Bermuda information in one place as soon as it becomes available on the web.”
According to the website, Bermudatoday.com monitors all the Bermuda related websites and automatically updates as new postings become available.
“For example, looking for an apartment to rent or a property to purchase has never been easier. No more checking multiple websites several times daily. With bermudatoday.com links to the latest listings are made available all on one screen,” it states.
“As another example, reviewing the online news also requires checking multiple websites but with bermudatoday.com links to the latest news stories are listed all in one place.”
It adds: “For information providers, bermudatoday.com will drive traffic to their sites by alerting visitors when new content is available. Only minimal information is presented on bermudatoday.com related to an information posting and to view the details the reader must click on the link to the information provider’s site. All activity on the site including clickthroughs is tracked and will be made available to information providers on request.”
The press release also describes Bermudatoday.com as “a service to the community” and “independent from all information providers”.
