William (Butch) Agnew has joined Dyna Management Services Ltd as vice-president, Business Development and Client Services.

Mr Agnew began with Dyna on Monday and will oversee the delivery of management and consulting services to a number of the company’s reinsurance and captive clients, as well as assist in the development of the company’s continued growth as an independent insurance manager with a focus on innovation and commitment to client service.

Mr Agnew’s previously held positions were as financial controller of AQR Re Management Ltd in Bermuda, and with Aon Insurance Managers Ltd in Bermuda, Cayman and London, where he has held positions as global director — insurance-linked securities, and vice-president — captives in Cayman.

Terence Power, president of Dyna, said: “With more than 15 years of experience in various roles within the insurance and reinsurance market, Butch brings a wealth and variety of knowledge and understanding of the industry that will be of benefit, not only to all our team members, but also to our clients.”

Mr Agnew graduated from the University of Alberta in 1992 with a Bachelors of Commerce degree, majoring in financial accounting.

In addition to being a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Canada, Mr Agnew also holds the designation of Associate in Risk Management (ARM) from The Insurance Institute of America.
