Be afraid — Queen Street to stage Boo Bash
A city street will tomorrow become a Halloween zone.
Retailers in Queen Street are to open late for a special trick or treat night with a host of activities on offer.
The Boo Bash — modelled on US Halloween themed parties aimed at providing a safe environment for children to enjoy the day — will feature face-painting, glitter art, a photo booth and games.
Shops — including Daisy & Mac, Choices, Sassy and Baked — will be open from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and staff will give out candy and gifts to children aged up to 12.
Daisy & Mac owner Dawn Zuill, who pioneered the first Boo Bash last year said: “We are very excited to be able to hold Boo Bash for the second time and are thrilled at the support we have had from our fellow retailers — and it’s not too late for others to take part.”
Event coordinator Kelly Gilmour, of Daisy & Mac’s, said: “After last year’s Boo Bash, the feedback from children and parents was so great that we knew we had to do it again.
“After Hurricane Gonzalo, this is a chance for everyone to let off some steam and have a fun time in a safe environment.”
The event will finish with a parade at 7pm at The Lemon Tree — with prizes given out for the best costumes in several categories.
