A Bermudian insurance industry veteran has been promoted to a top post at Sun Life.

Trenton Fubler, who has been with the company for 12 years, is now associate director of operations at the firm.

Mr Fubler, who started off as a customer service representative, will lead two teams working in the international life insurance sector.

Sun Life assistant vice president and head of international operations, said: “Trenton has been a tremendous asset and an integral part of Sun Life Financial International operations in Bermuda.

“He is knowledgeable about the business and coupled with his energy, collaborative style and flexibility, I am confident he will inspire and lead his new team to collective success.”

Senior vice-president and CEO of Sun Life Financial International Andrew Darfoor added: “We remain focused on fostering, developing and nurturing Bermudian talent in the organisation.

“Developing local talent is an integral part of our future growth and human resource strategy on the Island.

“Accordingly, I am delighted to have Trenton promoted to the local Bermuda management team and see him progress in the organisation.”

And Mr Darfoor added that the firm planned to appoint its first Bermudian rotational leadership development programme candidate next month, which will see local candidates gain international experience in the Sun Life group.
