Food truck offers January renewals discounts
A food truck has launched a special deal for the insurance and reinsurance business.
The Smokin’ Barrel is offering 10 per cent off as the industry works overtime following the January renewal season.
Chef Richard Reno said: “It’s renewal season and there is an untapped business opportunity because people have to do a lot of night working right now.”
Mr Reno said the Front Street wagon is offering its discount deal for industry professionals during evening hours.
And, for orders for five people or more in offices, the person making the order will get a half-price deal on their own choice.
Mr Reno, originally from Texas, has revamped the Smokin’ Barrel menu to give it a Lone Star State barbecue flavour.
“People are sitting in their offices all night long and maybe getting food from other places,” he said.
“We can offer something that no one else can do. We’re relaunching the whole business and we have to do whatever it takes.”
He added: “It’s the new year. Once we get the ball rolling, we will have other things to offer.”
“We just want to have fun with the food right now, trying to get our names out there.
“We want to focus on getting extra business. It’s the slow season of the year right now.”
Mr Reno said that home deliveries could also be arranged, subject to demand and distance. And he added that the Smokin’ Barrel could do other types of food if required, including gluten-free and dairy-free selections.
“We can do just about any kind of food people want, as long as we get notice ahead of time.”
Mr Reno joined Smokin’ Barrel late last year after working for three years at the Mid Ocean Club.
The professional chef learnt to barbecue Texas-style while working at the River Oaks Country Club in his home town of Houston.
