Public meeting on new architects’ law
Bermuda’s architects are to hold a public meeting on a proposed new law governing the profession.
The Institute of Bermuda Architects, the Architectural Association of Bermuda and the Architects’ Registration Council will join forces to talk about comments from the profession and the public gathered during a four week consultation period last month.
Krystal Rodriques, president of the IBA, said: “The Architects Professions Bill will set an industry-wide standard for the practice of architecture in Bermuda, ensuring that all professionals are accountable for the work they produce and empowering the consumer when it comes to their architectural investments.
“This new bill will give long overdue recognition to practitioners that have the experience necessary to offer services, limit capabilities for practitioners without suitable experience and require all licensed professionals to carry professional indemnity insurance.”
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 15 at 5.30pm in the Anglican Cathedral Hall.
