Riddell’s Bay clubhouse for sale at $2.85m
The clubhouse at the former Riddell’s Bay Golf and Country Club is on the market with a price tag of $2.85 million.
The clubhouse, with 19,000 gross square feet of space, comes with nearly two acres of land and is said to be suitable for a range of uses.
Listed with real estate agents Moura & Associates, the clubhouse also has two cottages next to it which are available for purchase by separate agreement.
The firm’s website said the clubhouse features four rooms, two bathrooms and a kitchenette on the upper floor, with several offices, two foyers, two bars and two dining areas, a “very large” main dining room with balcony, restrooms and a large commercial kitchen.
The listing added the lower area featured potential retail space, multiple offices and locker rooms, while a lower ground floor has additional storage rooms.
The building also has a 50-car capacity car park.
The listing said: “This amazing property has loads of potential and could be used as a restaurant and bar, inn/tourist accommodation, residential, offices or a combination of some or all of them.”
It added the site “offers great potential return for investors.”
Riddell’s Bay, Bermuda’s oldest course, closed abruptly on March 31, 2016 after nearly a century in operation because the club could not meet operational costs.
The Royal Gazette revealed last November that a group of island-based investors had banded together to buy the golf course, with plans to create a 50-acre conservation zone, with a limited amount of land used for residential lots on “the outer fringes” of the area.
