Personal shopping business presents options
“Why spend time shopping when we can do it for you” is the motto for a personal shopping business started by a local woman to assist those who need extra support.
Bermuda Overseas Personal Shopper, based in St David’s, was established by Trina Roberts in 2003. The business offers a range of services such as consultation, closet and home makeovers, shopping buddy services for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, babies and bridal showers and other events. Ms Roberts said it is focused on providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
The company has a variety of items to choose from and shop both locally and overseas. The idea of a personal shopper is to take the strain off individuals.
Personal shoppers turn errands and shopping into a vocation, serving clients who are too busy or simply unable to shop for themselves.
“My services also extend to supporting local businesses with products, including different items for sale on occasion,” said Ms Roberts.
Locals are not limited to Bermuda and can explore options overseas. Ms Roberts pointed out that not everyone has the time to do shopping, and others need guidance on where to shop or might be unsure of where to get a certain item either locally or overseas.
“Listening to what the need was, I decided to start up a business to assist those persons providing shopping services for them in Bermuda or overseas,” she said.
When clients want items from abroad there is an automatic charge of $50, and the service charge will vary depending on the amount of shopping required.
Ms Roberts said that depending on the size of the item being imported, her business will use ocean freight, air transport or mail to bring it to Bermuda.
“We always review the best cost options for our clients,” she added. The business has a website that gives details about services and product descriptions and also features an order form.
