A popular takeaway business has expanded to another location in Warwick.

The Wok Express, which originally opened in 2012, set up its first location in Middle Road, Southampton.

Owners Gilles Cailliere, who has a catering background and Alexander Guilas, a trained chef, said they pride their success on teamwork.

“Alex and I balance each other, with him being a chef and my experience in catering,” Mr Cailliere said.

The men said business was booming. After the quick success of the first location, they grasped another opportunity to open the second in North Street, Hamilton, two years later.

The Hamilton operation, unlike the other two locations, is a takeaway and restaurant, so they offer the option to dine in as well. Both takeaway locations have proved very popular among locals.

Mr Guilas said: “Another reason we are doing so well is because of the variety we offer.”

The menu is diverse, they serve anything from cooked and raw sushi, Asian dishes and fried foods.

The new location, on Middle Road, Warwick, next to Bo’s Lawn Equipment and Lindo’s Family Foods, opened doors last week.

The pair said early customer response had been positive.

“A lot of people are happy we are now located closer to them in Warwick,” Mr Cailliere said.

The owners have been working behind the scenes to refashion the kitchen and make it more suitable for Asian cooking.

Mr Guilas said: “We needed to create the space for Asian cooking. We set up a sushi bar and wok area. So now its an Asian-style kitchen.”

The Southampton location is temporarily closed until renovations are completed.

“We hope to have the Southampton location done in May,” said Mr Cailliere. “Since it’s been ten years we need to keep it up to date and fresh. We have a new terrace and sushi bar to be added.”
