Its wedding season! And a Bermudian company that specialises in events planning and helping couples make their special day memorable is marking a decade in business.

Bermuda Event Solutions Ltd is a home-based service run by business partners Kathleen Dodwell and Emily Boden.

The business is a full-service events company specialising in weddings. Turning a passion into a business was the aim for the pair.

Ms Dodwell has a background in educational travel and tourism and Ms Boden, who used to work in the insurance industry, realised her passion for hospitality.

Having started off doing corporate events and destination management, the company took another turn and naturally progressed into weddings.

“After our first wedding we were hooked!” Ms Boden said. “Its lovely to work with clients to create their special day. There is so much more emotion and joy in wedding planning that it soon became the majority of our business.”

The business has proven successful over the years and has gained popularity quickly by word of mouth from clients.

“We do roughly 65 weddings per year plus corporate events and a few destination management groups a year,” she said.

The pair work closely with couples to get to know them and understand their complete vision in making their day unique.

“We are there to make the process of planning a wedding fun for the couple. So many people get stressed by the planning that they don’t enjoy the journey,” Ms Boden said.

“We help our couples enjoy the journey by assuring them that we will make their vision a reality and no detail will be overlooked.”
