Mailboxes launches internet returns service
Mailboxes US Express is staking its claim to lead the internet returns market in a partnership with international courier DHL.
The growth of online shopping has meant a growing market in shipping back the items that customers want to return, for various reasons.
Stephen Thomson, the owner of Mailboxes US Express, said his company had launched a new service to deal with returns to the US, no matter whom consumers had purchased from, nor how they had shipped it here.
“We want to be known as the internet return hub for Bermuda,” Mr Thomson said.
“We know many Bermudians are frustrated at the expense and hassle of trying to return items they have purchased on the internet.
“We have solved that problem with a fast, low-cost way to return any item to any online retailer in the US.”
He added that a package that weighs 1lb or less costs $14 to return to the US, while a 5lb package costs $19.60. He claimed this represented a saving of more than 80 per cent compared to shipping an item to the US with large courier companies.
Mailboxes US Express, which is based in Par-la-Ville Road, Hamilton, can also guide customers on how to reclaim duty from Customs, Mr Thomson said.
