A Bermudian who worked behind the scenes for major music artists like Rihanna, Jay-Z and Katy Perry has decided to pursue a career in real estate.

Mr Wade is an agent at Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty, which is the part of the worldwide Coldwell Banker group. He has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, it is in his genes.

“My parents own a gas station in St George’s, so it is in my blood,” he said.

Earlier in his life, Mr Wade developed a passion for the music industry. He attended Full Sail University in Florida where he studied the entertainment business.

Originally starting off in the reggae dancehall, he met Troyton Rami, who produced Sean Paul’s song called Gimme The Light.

“Troyon took me as an intern in Miami, and I got to work with big reggae artists like Sean Paul.”

Mr Wade decided to broaden his horizons and went to Jamaica where he produced music for reggae artist Capleton. He eventually wanted to transition into producing hip hop music and moved to New York to pursue his interest in producing hop records. It was there that he met Joshua Perez, the nephew of Jay-Z’s business partner Juan Perez.

Mr Wade had the opportunity to produce music for the singer, whose hits include 99 Problems. He described him as intelligent “and very calm. He stayed to himself. He was all about empowerment and growth”.

Mr Wade got the opportunity to work behind the scenes for Umbrella singer Rihanna, and Katy Perry.

Obtaining his real estate licence four years ago, Mr Wade decided to make a major shift into the industry.

He believes he can contribute his knowledge and experience gained over the years into a career within the real estate profession.

“I am a people person and I am honest and reliable. I will not just sell you a house, I will give you real information about the property and why you should purchase it,” he said.
