Long service awards for real estate stalwarts

Bermuda Realty Company Limited and Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty staff have been recognised for a combined total of 100 years’ continuous service with the company.

The long service awards were presented by president and chief executive officer Brian Madeiros, in recognition of milestone service ranging from five years to 30 years.

He said: “We are celebrating today committed staff members who have a wealth of knowledge and understanding about the organisation, which really is invaluable to our company, customers and clients. I must thank you all for your dedication and commitment.”

Mr Madeiros was presented with his 30-year long service certificate by the agency manager, Susan Thompson. He started with Bermuda Realty as an appraiser and property manager and in 2000, with the merger of Jones Waddington and Bermuda Realty, became owner and CEO.

He said: “As I reflect on my life journey and the time I have spent with the company and our team members, gratitude becomes the prevailing sentiment. I am grateful that I still authentically enjoy the various aspects of my professional life and humbled by the commitment shown by our team.”

Commercial agent Graham Smith celebrated 20 years’ service. He said: “I am committed to listening to my clients’ needs and utilising my keen negotiating skills to ensure a successful transaction."

Also recognised for 20 years’ service was rental/sales agent Kenneth Richardson. In 2006, at the Coldwell Banker International Business Conference, he received the “Above and Beyond Award” for donating school supplies to a number of students who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

Angela Hanwell, a sales/rental agent, has been with the company for 15 years. She started as a personal assistant moved to the property management department and then became a successful agent.

Celebrating 10 years with the company was Sarah Faiella. She started as a residential property manager, moved to the position of real estate assistant to the president and the agency manager, then become the top sales/rental agent in 2017.

Rounding out the awards was Dennis Rodrigues with five years’ service. He has worked in a number of management and property management positions prior to joining Bermuda Realty Company Limited.
