One Communications gives back through digital advent calendar
One Communications has given more than $40,000 towards supporting the economy and customers through a digital advent calendar.
The calendar ran over 24 days starting on November 27 through December 20. Visitors to the calendar had the opportunity to Spin to Win prizes supporting businesses, including retailers, hotels, and eateries; play holiday themed games to raise money for charities; and win prizes from One Communications, including phones, gift cards and bill credits.
There were charitable donations of $8,000 to Big Brothers, Big Sisters Bermuda, Eliza DoLittle Society, WindReach, and Women's Resource Centre Bermuda.
In addition, there was $8,270 in One Communications credits and gift cards, $3,275 in gift cards to businesses, and 4,162 food and drink items.
One Communications worked with businesses for spin to win prizes, such as Brew and Four Star, as well as Ahmani’s Cookies to give customers an extra treat when visiting kerbside and retail.
Frank Amaral, chief executive officer of One Communications, said: “We know this has been a tough year for the Bermuda economy and we wanted to find a way to give back and encourage everyone to shop local. We were very pleased with how engaged Bermuda was with the advent calendar which allowed us to raise quite a bit of money for charity as well as provide an abundance of support for local businesses, and give back to our customers who support us year round.”
One Communications also worked with Bermuda businesses and released a video to support the shop local initiative.
