Registrar of Companies prepares to launch online system
The Registrar of Companies is launching the first phase of its new online company registry system next month.
This new online registry coming into effect on June 7, will allow the public to view all corporate registers maintained by the Registrar of Companies. Statutory filings and applications can also be made online.
The Registrar of Companies is offering a series of webinars to provide training on how to use the new registry system. The first live webinar will be offered tomorrow, with subsequent webinars being offered weekly. These webinars will be open to anyone interested in learning how to use the new system.
Migration of data to their new system will take place from May 27 to June 4. During this time, the Registrar of Companies will not be able to enter any further data, and no applications will be accepted. Also, economic substance declarations that have been started must be finished and submitted by June 3. Any unfinished declarations that have not been submitted by this date will be deleted, and will have to restarted.
The Registrar of Companies urged those already familiar with setting up an organisation on this new system, to take this time to set up their organisations and staff user accounts at www.registrarofcompanies.gov.bm. Existing accounts on the Economic Substance portal will be carried over to the new system.
An introduction to the system webinar will be held tomorrow and May 26. A webinar on June 2, will touch on reserving a name, registering an exempted company limited by shares, registering a mortgage, charge, maintenance services, ordering certificates and requesting to conduct a search. On June 9, there will be a webinar about amalgamations and mergers, registering a segregated accounts company and additional maintenance services.
The last webinar on June 16, is entitled ’most requested by the industry’. A live question and answer session will be included. All webinars will be from 1pm to 2.15pm. For those unable to attend any of the live sessions, webinars will be recorded and made available by e-mailing ggouterbridge@gov.bm.
